McMillen's model of a home he designed for San Francisco

David R. McMillen is a retired local architect that worked in the Cubist influenced Modernist Style in the manner of architects Le Corbosier, Michael Graves, Richard Meier and Will Martin.

McMillen graduated from the University of Oregon Architecture School and studied in London and France. McMillen practiced in California joining the firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM). McMillen then had his own practice in Portland and later joined Industrial Design Corp.
