Digitizing Cornerstones
The Cornerstones of the Community project is a passion project exceeding 3,000 volunteer hours, that took years to compile the research. The project focuses on Black people, Black businesses and Black owned and occupied buildings in Portland and those who were affected by displacement. These audio recordings tell their stories by their own words. Sharing this part of the Cornerstones project is so important to the AHC, because we believe in telling the stories of all communities. We are so grateful to the people who funded this project and made it possible to share online. The more accessible these stories are, the richer our communities will be.
